Comments:
Thanks to Tom K5RC for the use of his station and helping set up for the Sprint.
Many thanks also to Bob N6TV for his advice on using WinTest for SO2R in
Sprint.
I should have taken Bob's advice to do the alternating couplet approach to SO2R
instead of trying the interrupted CQ approach. Once I started working stations
on 20 I couldn't figure out how to start up the second radio CQ while typing in
the radio 1 exchange, so no SO2R. Next time I need to figure out how to set up
the keyboard messages to automatically do the switching in WinTest.
20 meters was tough. I kept hearing the same strong stations and it was only
late on 20 when I could work the weaker stations, many CA stations on
backscatter. My 4 hours were 79, 82, 80 and 76.
This was my first use of WinTest in Sprint and I was surprised that it does not
automatically display the QSO frequency in the visible log. There were several
times when I probably could have CQed on a clear frequency but I couldn't tell
(or remember) if I was less than 5 KHz from the previous QSO. WinTest also
changed received countries and HI to "DX" in the Cabrillo file.
Thanks to all for the Q's. I was worried that I wouldn't work the NV mult, but
found W6NF and N7ON so special thanks to them. I worked all mults that I heard
for a change.
73,
-Mike, N7MH
