Comments:

First, thanks for all the QSO's! This was a "low stress" event for us, but we
did manage to keep at least one station on the air for the entire 12 hours.
Conditions were pretty good especially with 10 meters for a little while during
the afternoon. At one point WD0T was about 30 dB over S9 on 10. We actually
thought he was a local until we tuned to him and heard his call sign. Doug and
I had a chuckle over the fact that we doubled our normal 20 meter sweepstakes
QSO production in this contest. Wish we could pull that many 20 meter Q's
during the SS. Apologies to those who asked us to QSY when we couldn't oblige.
The M/2 category isn't very friendly to that sort of thing. The station worked
pretty well, and we had fun, which after all is the objective.

The station is undergoing rework, and the 160 meter vertical and the 80 meter
yagi are off the air. We loaded a low 80 meter inverted vee on 160 and managed
to put a few Q's in the log anyway. The 2 element 80 meter yagi
was sorely missed. We were grateful that the weather cooperated to a large
extent. While the QRN level wasn't exactly pleasant, it was no where near as
bad as in years past in this event. The absolute most important thing is that
the air conditioning worked well. Not even close to a repeat of the record "in
shack" temperature of 97 degrees recorded in 2008.

See you guys in January!

73,

Rick and Doug
K4TD and KY4F
