Comments:

Need to think more on possible antenna for last year.  Used MFJ-2990 43' foot
vertical.  Worked and heard more than I usually do, despite really bad noise. 
Still no Europe - although I heard several very loud EU stations that couldn't
hear me at all. Next year I'll try 1500 watts instead of 500 - perhaps a small
increase in DB will go a long way.   Only other option would be some sort of
dipole/inverted-V, just don't think I could get the apex much higher than 50'.
