I want to thank Ken, W0LSD for the use of his contest station located at 9,900
feet in the beautiful Rocky Mounains! It was great fun to call US and VE
stations on 80 and 40 meters with my 5 watts and have many of them come back to
me with one call!

As everyone knows, condx went into the tank near the beginning of the contest.
As a result, 82% of my Qs were in North America and 68% were with USA stations.
I worked a total of 26 Europeans! And I only worked a total of 39 DXCC
countries! I'm not altogether sure that those stats would allow me to consider
this a "DX contest"!

Condx were so bad that in the last hour I came across more than one good sized
pile-up on some uninteresting W or K prefix that decided to get on just for the
fun of it (giving out numbers well under 100)!

My best Q was UP2L who copied my 5 watt signal on 20 M the second time I sent
it. He must really hear well!

It seemed that I heard and worked few Carribean stations compared to usual.
And only 6 JAs, 5 on 40 and one on 20. I did manage to work MJ/W1NN and IU9T on
20 M. And CQ3L on 80 was a great catch.

I think this contest has changed much for the better since giving out a Q point
for an "in country" Q a few years back.

73 and see you at the end of October!

Bill Parker W8QZA / W6QU
