Comments:

No 6m antenna here, just loaded up my 160/80/40m dipole at 60' with 100w. The
band was open to somewhere during the day whenever I checked, and open until
after 0300z on the first night.

Going in, I only had 7 states confirmed by LOTW on CW, so spent most of my time
on CW until conditions got really good on Sunday afternoon. Switched over to
phone and had a terrific hour and a half run until the band suddenly died and I
had to go back to CW.

The most amazing thing for me this time around was the coverage. I'm used to
the band being open to certain areas and that's all you work until the band
changes. This time, the band was open all over at times, more like 20m. I
remember working CA followed by NY followed by IL followed by AZ or some
combination like that.

Overall, I missed WA OR NE OK IA AR WI RI ME AK and HI (and I have a number of
those already confirmed by LOTW). My heart rate did go up when a KH6 called,
but he was in NV .. at least he said "Aloha" and gave me a new grid! All in
all, a very enjoyable way to spend a stormy weekend here in Kansas. Even the
storms waited until the band died in the evenings, so didn't have to pull the
plug early at any time. Thanks to all for the Qs!

73, Bob, w0bh
