Best ever JUNE Contest QSO totals but below average GRID score. Worked a few
Europeans at start of Contest and a dozen stations from Caribbean areas
Saturday evening. Was even surprised to work a bunch of Texas stations at 1AM,
Saturday night.
The openings were intense but brief with 5 different sessions of 100-130 qsos
per hour on both Saturday and Sunday. Only heard one lonely W6 in San Diego and
path seemed to stop at Utah--heard nothing past Wisconsin to the West (only a
few AZ, UT, NV stations were worked).
Monitored KC4PX working a bunch of Europeans on Sunday--not a peep. And
listened to K5TR & K5QE running piles of W6/W7s---not a peep here either!). So,
it is "location, location, location"......
