Comments:

Finally got the KP2 Remote working yesterday, but many issues still to deal with
- especially the CW keying in light of a 250ms to 400ms plus latency factor.
I've been spoiled with 1ms to Locust Peak. If you noticed keying problems
and/or a delay in responding tonight, now you know why. It was somewhat brutal
on my end.

QLF'd and thought the NS started an hour later tonight. At 30 minutes before
the checkered flag dropped, I discovered this while at Radio Shack 10 miles
away picking up some connectors & cables to hopefully be able to integrate the
TR4W logger for PC keying tonight. Rushed through Mc Donald's drive-thru on
the way back home chomping down a quarter pounder and a snack wrap.

Turned off the engine in the driveway 7 minutes before NS start time, made an
inside pit stop, and fired up remotely in time to work Tom/W7WHY just before
0230. Sorry we didn't connect during the NS, Tom.

Everyone vanished from 20m too early, which was disappointing 'cuz there were
still loud signals coming through and then it was like a big curtain call and
nothingness.

My (remote) TS-480 only has 2 antenna ports, so I was held hostage to grind out
the rest of the NS tonight stuck on 40m. Apologies to K0UK and N4DW who called
me there almost immediately, as I QLF'd by forgetting they were new on that
band (we had worked on 20m). DUH!

Spent the last 8 to 10 minutes calling CQ NS on 40m with only two takers.
Jim/K8MR and once again, Bob/W0BH (this time /M in TX) and I started our
official QSO at 2 seconds before the final bell. It took a while to complete
it due to signal strength and QSB. Tnx for hanging in there, Bob.

I had planned to do the ARRL SSB DX Contest (single band) remotely from KP2 but
multiple Murphy strikes prevented it from happening. Tnx to Mike/SM2O, I ended
up operating remotely for a few hours as SM2/K6VVA of all things! What an
experience.

May or may not CU folks next week. If so, ya never know where I may pop up
from :^)

(Kirk/N0KK: Sorry we missed ... I called you once but lost the jump ball).

73 & Tnx for all the (remote) Q's & Mults...

Rick, K6VVA * The (Remote Contesting) Locust
