Comments:

Great conditions, too bad 10 never really opened although the previous weekend
was amazing and gave us all hope. Oh well...

New additions to the group this year included K1ZR (our 15 and 20 M contesting
machine!) and the very new to major league contesting, W1SKB who is also a
member of the Young Amateurs Contest Ham Team (YACHT and World Wide Young
Contesters (WWYC). He is only 15 years old. Recently joined the YCCC to gain
further experience and wow, did he get a good education this weekend.

New in the antenna department was a "work in progress" 160 M 4 Square that
actually worked better than the old inverted vee. Nice! N9NC's CQ on Sunday
morning was answered by VK6HD which blew Tom out of the chair! Lots of nice
hightlights on that band.

New 3 el. 40 M yagi (replaced the old, broken and fatigued 4 el. KLM 40) worked
very well. And with fingers crossed should hold up much better in the winter
weather.

All the equipment worked well except those pesky DVK remote pushbuttons - had
to really pound on those Radio Shack pushbuttons (new project - replace those
buttons that handle the abuse of contesting!). And one headset that caused us
to lose a JA mult on 80 M while trying to correct the call sign.

Our very special thanks to the many friends from around the world that called
in to make the whole weekend a contest to remember!

73, Mark, K1RX
