Comments:

Missed the last two years of CQWW SSB after a run of 11 years of serious entries
- nice to be back! Also great to see 15 meters back! Ten was improved but was
hoping for more after it was open to Europe several days just prior to the
contest but alas – those sunspots faded away. Did manage to work GM9T who
popped in briefly Sunday afternoon but that was it.

Surprisingly I set personal records for QSOs and multipliers on all three of
the low bands. I attribute a big part of that to the expanded privileges on 40
and 80 that I had not been able to take advantage of until this year. A big
thrill was finding JT5DX on 40 shortly after sunrise Sunday and working him on
first call for my 80th country and 30th zone.

Made some feeble attempts to run Europe on 15 meters without success –
impossible to find a frequency with the strong East Coast signals. Ended up
with 98 percent of my contacts being search and pounce – you can’t win that
way, even with low power.

Looking forward to CW but I’m glad there is a month to recover. Too many
contests this time of year!
