One word: RUSTY

2nd word: My apologies to many for some excellent "liddish" moments

Without looking through my history I'd say this was my best CW SS, especially
considering 15 hours of operation.

In an unfrutiful effort to get a sweep, I've always gone into Sunday evening
needing WY or OK or something of that sort. When 80m started well, I parked
myself there for 230 Q's from 0200z to 0600z. When I shut down for the morning
at 0800 I had 77 mults, missing only RI in the US. Others I needed were NWT and
NL. So never had a sweep, the closest I came one year was 79, needing WY. It's
starting to become a mental issue!

Picked up a RI Sunday morning and eventually 2 more. I had backups for every
mult except PR. Never even heard NWT or NL, oh well.

Sunday was pretty much a drag with the exception of a decent run on 20m. Good
runs were:

0200z 80m 52
0400z 80m 71
0500z 80m 59
1700z 20m 53

I can certainly see that how a 2nd radio could be put to good use.

Couldn't get 40m to "sing" like 80m although one would think the signal would
be better. More "gain" antennas to compete against I suppose. I've had the
hexbeam lying on the ground for a number of years and when a friend volunteered
to give me a hand on Thursday the gears started turning. Somehow we avoided
Murphy and pushed up my GM 17' tripod tower with it on top. I didn't have
enough rotator cable to make it to the shack so trips to the garage were
necessary to change direction. ;-)

I'm not prone to fits of anger, but the shack experienced the first episode of
throwing headphones and two episodes of "smashing" the keyboard. No damage
done for inquiring minds.

Oh well, all in all a good time. I'll be on for phone SS as I can fit it into
my schedule.

Heard lots of CO stations. K0EU and W0UA lead the charge. I heard W0ZA many
times.

73's

Chris, n4vi
