Comments:

I did a bunch of upgrades to the station for this contest. I installed a new
inverted-l from S9 products. They offer a nice complete kit that is ready to
install.

I have it running up my 70' tower and pulled to the south. The lowest part of
the antenna is up 50'.

I used a Balun Design 1:1 Bakun model 1116dt on the inverted L.

Noise is such a huge problem - I added some receive antennas. I decided to go
with the DX Engineering Receive Antenna System - Electronically Rotatable -
DXE-AAPS3-1P

I did not want the complexity of a 4 square and I would have to clear out some
more trees to make it fit. So, I went with the phased 2 antennas array. I am
happy with the performance. I can't believe how well the antennas work with
such a small footprint.

I am still debating adding an external preamp. Most of the time I ran my 756
pro iii with the pre-amp off.

I more than doubled my score from last year, so I am making progress.

D.
