Comments:
Thanks to the RTTY community for all the fun the last 2 weekends. Every QSO is
appreciated. Thanks also goes to the folks who took the time and made the
effort to get on RTTY and participated for the first or second time in a RTTY
contest.
After the number of new calls that showed up on the screen in last weeks ARRL
RYYY Roundup Contest, figured would not see any or very few one week later.
However, I was surprised at the number of new stations (at least for me) worked
in the UK RTTY Contest. Again, welcome to RTTY contesting.
Did not have the opportunity to participate as fully as would have liked. The
QSO per hour rate may seem high, but probably due to getting on when bands were
at there best for my location. Fortunately, the bands did seem to be good with
good participation whenever I could get into the shack.
Only had a few hours on 80 and it was quiet with some nice signals from Europe.
Forty meters was good for the time (2100Z - 0000Z) I had to operate. During
this 3 hour segment, V31YN was worked on both 40 and 80 and YB1AR on 40. YB1AR
had a solid signal.
Twenty and 15 meters both were good for the 3 hours I was able to operate at
the start of the Contest. Kind of surprised to see 15 m open to Europe at the
start of the Contest.
Again, thanks to all who were kind enough to work me.
73,
Mike, K4GMH
