Comments:
Planned a Multi-Two to give some Newbie Ops more contest Experience but
unfortunately lost the late afternoon/evening Ops to other commitments so we
only ad Multi-Op the first 4.5 hours of the contest. 10 and 15 mtr bands really
weren't playing well and we had lots of QRN on 20 mtrs all day. 40 played well
but again had bad QRN on 80 with few signals heard and found out we have a new
QRM noise that thrashed us on 160 (Warbling chirpy noise that we must find
before next 160 contest!) Had hoped for 1000 Qs and 200 mults but it was not
to be. Did better than expected on 40 for Mults but 15 Mult count very low for
NAQP with the same states being heard over and over again. Thanks to AF6WF,
K6KAL and K6GO for at least helping get setup and manning the 2nd radio for the
beginning of the contest. We were very antenna challenged on 2nd Station as all
we had was a R-7 Vertical and not our usual 70 ft Tower Trailer as Bob, N6OX
broke his wrist in a mountain Bike accident recently and could not bring the
killer tower trailer !
