Comments:

This was not a competetive effort -- just a FUN time with changing personal
goals. First it was supposed to be a quest to work all 50 states "search and
pounce" -- well that's a tough thing to do,so I decided to just make 500 QSOs
and turn the rig off. The FUN was still there, so that goal changed to 600,
and ultimately to 1000 QSOs, when the big switch was finally thrown. Along the
way, I got the chance to say hello to a lot of old friends. After 15 hours I
was not bleary eyed, and am already looking forward to the next one.

One thing to mention -- usually ND and VE4 are the toughest sections for me in
domestic contests. This year it was nice to have 4 MB stations call in
during my runs - VE4EAR, VE4MR, VE4YU, and VE4XC. Likewise 4 ND stations
stopped by - "old reliable" W0ZTL, plus W0CZ, NT0V, and N0UD. Idaho was the
"toughie" this year, with K7ARJ finally completing the 50 states. I always
try to especially thank the guys from the rare sections for passing along their
multiplier. Stations in KH6 and KL7 also deserve those kudos.

I missed the usual candidates VE8 VO2 VY1 VY0

I chose not to participate in too many "packet or skimmer induced" pileups --
they were just too messy in my FUN effort. It's so much easier and satisfyng
to find those DX stations on my own.

Thanks for all of the QSOs .... I did accomplish my objective ...
