Comments:
What fun! Thanks again to John Evans, N3HBX, for letting me use his fine
station again. This was going to be a small Multi/Single but ended up as a
single operator effort at the last minute.
This operation has two firsts for me. I've never done WAE CW seriously from
the continental US and I've never done a single operator contest with the N1MM
software. I thought this would be a good contest to try N1MM as a single
operator since I hadn't planned a serious single operator effort.
N1MM has come a long way in the last two years! I didn't have any serious
problems with it. There's still a lot to learn though and it certainly was
interesting and fun learning more about it.
Saturday had better conditions. I decided to take time off Sunday morning
rather than afternoon because conditions seemed poor. I was late to the 10
meter opening Sunday because of this - the limit of three off-times makes
strategy for WAE interesting!
The RBN has changed assisted contesting a lot. It sure did increase my
multiplier totals!
I believe DARC should recognize this and add unassisted categories to WAE - I
would enjoy doing this contest unassisted but I wouldn't be able to compete.
Even without an unassisted category, this is one of my favorite contests of the
year - Thanks DARC! I always look forward to it.
