Comments:

Although 10 meters was in poor shape, it was still fun to get on and run some
small pileups. Sporadic E opened up after 0000 UTC each night with very good
runs to SE USA, Brazil, and Argentina. I worked a few EU and ZL stations - most
of the DX was Caribbean and South America. The band was nowhere close to 2011
levels. There was absolutely nothing coming in from west of my QTH - I worked
one South Dakota and one Arizona station, plus a couple of Alaskans. It really
kept the multipliers down without the EU and western USA in the mix.

I had numerous family obligations that kept me out of the seat most of the day
Saturday - my daughter Bernadette won 1st place at her Olympic weight lifting
high school tournament, so it was well worth it.

It was great bumping into all the Minnesota stations - they are too numerous to
mention. I had a lot of SE USA stations complaining that all they could work was
Minnesota - way to go MWA!

It was very picturesque watching the snow falling all day Sunday while sitting
in the chair off and on. I had to go out the last 2 hours of the contest and
snow blow the driveway while it was still light...that's living in the tundra
for you.
