I was able to get my SteppIR DB18 working correctly after 6 or 7 months with the
Director element not working, making it a 2 element yagi on all bands except
40M, where it was a dipole.  With the antenna working correctly I was eager to
try it out tonight, but a friend called at 3:30 p.m. (sprint started at 6 pm)
to say that another friend, who was at one of the local club's repeater sites,
had destroyed a tire and had no spare.  We drove out to get him, about a 3 hour
round trip mostly over bad roads, and I missed the first hour.

Fortunately I was able to operate a lot on 40M and was pleased to see that the
antenna worked well.  Thanks to everyone who participated to make this a fun
event!
