Comments:
Big help for the part time crew and thanks to Mike, KI1U who made the trip up
from CT (and did a nice representing the ARRL!). Conditions on the low bands
the first night, pretty poor but even poorer was 10 M the second day. Oh
well.
Had a great time, everything worked pretty well - tried for the first time N1MM
with new computers. Mostly operator issues learning the different features.
Did have the occasional stretch (arms north, legs south) that bumped power
supply switches and computer cables, shutting off a rig and the 40 M station on
occasion! Gotta clean up under the tables I guess!
Had a short visit by K1EP who stopped in to help for awhile and then off to do
packing for his upcoming trip. N1IX could not make it as he was down with the
flu but did manage to make a few Q's from home.
Rigs, antennas worked okay and even experienced the K3 (newly acquired) in a
serious contest with experienced K3 owners. Best part of the weekend was
sitting down to operate the K3 after someone had set the rig up using more
features of N1MM and the sub receiver in a linked mode - looked and sounded
very cool. Fun stuff for sure! Nice addition to the line up.
Thanks to all the DX stations that made this weekend so much fun and enjoyable.
Great operating from the DX side, real gentlemen behavior too.
73, Mark, K1RX
