Comments:
Best score ever at K9CT contest station and maybe a new M/2 record in W9. Thanks
to all of the operators that ran and found mults...great teamwork. We had a
great time and even without sleep enjoyed the contest.
Propagation was very interesting. Lack of sunspots did not keep it from being
exciting. Saturday afternoon and evening a shroud enveloped us and it was
difficult to decode the cw from EU on 40 and 80. Later we learned of the Aurora
that really changed conditions. We had countless surprises with dx calling in
from unexpected places and times. Thanks for the fun!!
Our team experienced some great rates...especially to EU on 15 and 20. Both
transmitters were over 200 per hour Saturday morning for several hours and were
over 150 per hour on Sunday. Too bad we really never got a solid opening on 10m.
We had 30 stations that worked us on SIX bands. The stations were
6Y2T, 8P5Y, C6XKQ, CR3A, CR3L, CR6K, CS2C, EF8R, HG3R, II9T, KH7X, KL7RA, KP2M,
KP2MM, M5E, M6T, NH2T, NP4Z, OM7M, P49V, P49Y, PJ2T, PZ5RO, TO5X, V31OT, V31RR,
V31TP, VP2MMM, VP5OU, and VP9/W6PH
We decided that contest food is very important and that we would like to
challenge other teams for the best team recipes!! Maybe NCJ will start a new
column? Anyhow, the food was very good and thanks to all of the team members
for the food that they brought. My wife and daughter even stopped by with ice
cream desserts for the team!
One other thing....the cw operators are really terrific in this contest. It is
just a blast working all of you.
Thanks for all of the qsos and see you in the Phone version.
73, Craig K9CT
