As always we tried to do our best in CQ WW 160. We are more than 1700km to the
East from our main competitors in Europe (S52OP, OL7M, 9A1P, OK7K, S56P, EI7M
is more than 3000km) . Bad activity from UR, UA, UA9/UA0 and no activity from
Asia. It's one of the reason, that we have more than 100 qso less than our
competitors from Europe. Our first qso in the contest was with Patrick from
VY2ZM. Thank you, Patrick !!! And there is no doubt, that it was the best
signal from North America !!! First station from USA was K1LZ with great
signal. Thank you guys ) Than at the end of the first hour we were called by
LU2DKT. Eduardo you have really good signal, our compliments ) During second
hour we had luck to add two more monsters from North America one from Canada
(VE1ZZ) and one from USA (K3ZM). A little bit later we have worked KK1KW,
N2CW, FM5CD, VE1ZJ, K8PO, W2MF, N4PN, W1XX. From 01:00z until 03:40z the band
was closed to NA. Only big guns were heard on the band, but with rather weak
signals. Forty minutes before sunrise band opened to East Coast but there was
no condition to the Caribbean at all. We didn't waste time and got three more
new states: AA1K, N3RR, K3WW. Second night band opened at 01:00z to NA and
we worked: VE3PN, N4XD, W1AN, W3BGN, K9RS, ND8DX, VE3TA e.t.c The only
station from the Caribbean this morning was NP4A. Thank you very much Pedro !
We were glad to work such stations from the East as: A92IO, A62ER, EX8MAT,
RC0F, 4Z5LY, OD5NJ, A61LL, BV1EK. We had fun and met so many friends on the
band during the weekend ) See you next year !!!
