Comments:

It was another operation from Smoke Ranch. Brad and Ruth were again the best
hosts and allowed me this fetish of RTTY Radio Contesting. I really need to do
something nice for them!

This was an interesting contest from up here in NW Oregon. I could not get 20
to really rock, but 15 and 10 were fully open to all the US. First time that 10
Q's were almost the same as 20, go figure. 40 was down from past years, I guess
everyone was on 15 and 10.

Murphy was absent from the test as far as the hardware and software were
concerned. I came up early on Friday and had the station fully operational for
SO2R in 2 hours. That is a new record! Usually it takes 6 to 7 hours and quite
a bit of foul language to coax it into working correctly. Not this time.

Murphy hit me personally at 12:00 noon (local), with some sort of bug. I am
talking "Montezuma's Revenge" and "Projectile Vomiting". I tried to operate
after the attack but was too fuzzy and still too sick to keep on. So I quit 2
hours before the end of the test. I had such a good run going but couldn't
concentrate any more so I shut the station down.

As it was I bested last years score and Q total so I can take solice in that. I
thank all who stopped by for a Q and I apologize to those whom I worked after
2000 on Sunday.

Ciao and 73
Hank/KR7X
