Comments:

Totally a 6 meter effort. I have not yet put back up the 2m and 440 yagis after
the hurricane damage. Saturday had some great openings (two hours over 100, see
rate sheet below) and Sunday was extremely slow, however, Sunday had some good
DX. I neglected cqing on Sunday to look for DX. I had worked ZF and 9Y on
Saturday on my high 7 el antenna. On Sunday, I turned the lower, but larger,
new 9 element toward the south and the floodgates opened! I set up the monitor
scope so I could watch 50.110 while I cq'd higher for contest qso's. TI8AA was
worked at 1736, then YS1AG and TG9AJR at 1906 and 1913. I could hear the TG9
for hours calling on 50.120. HR1/K2LCT at 2031 and XE3N at 2114, then nothing
was heard or worked until 2144. The band seemed dead so I ventured a "CQ DX"
and got a huge response. Six YVs and three FMs in 12 minutes from 2144 to 2156!
After that I found another TI at 2253, another TG9 at 0054 and then pulled the
switch early at 0200 due to the slow rate. There was an opening to Florida,
finally starting at about 2200 that helped fill in some missing grids. I need
a low antenna! I hope to erect a 30' tower before the June contest for a 6m,
6el rotary quad now on the ground next to the shack.
