Comments:

It seemed to be a tale of two contests; the first night I did not even HEAR a
single European, on the second night I worked 39 Europeans in 15 countries. The
first night USA was all over the place, on the second night it seemed REALLY
light for any new USA/VE contacts. Looking at WWV it seemed the solar
conditions were the same both night, I guess I don't know how to interpret WWV
data.

Heard but did not work ID for my only continental US missed. Some crazy piles
for ID. Also called and missed OH, GJ, LY, HK, SM, and OZ. My DX mults were
down by 5 this year over last year, OH, LY, SM were easy last year. I guess
this is what you get with only one night of DX.

Besides the occasional frequency fight, there was ONE annoying episode. A
certain European station REFUSED to work me saying "DUPE" and then CQed away.
It was NOT a dupe, it would have been my first contact in OK. But he replied
repeatedly DUPE giving my full call. Why the hell would you not just give the
signal report and get on with it. These days everyone uses computers to log, we
know when we are calling a dupe or not! I would call station X and hear both
station X and station Y (up 100 Hz) come back to me. I can log both. Or maybe
station Y thinks I am calling him but do not even notice him; he logs me but I
don't log him. He thinks I am a DUPE, I think he is unique. It is silly to
refuse to work someone with such a simple exchange in a contest when we are all
crammed in 70 Kc.

But it was great, I got to stay up late each night and that is fun for me. See
ya next time.
