Comments:
Well, this one was better than expected, due to the ominous propagtion
forecasts.
Rig: FT-1000MP + AL800H (used only on 15M and 10M)
Antennas:
10M- 3ele monoband yagi at 75 ft height
15M, 20M -Force12 VR-3 Vertical multiband
40M, 80M - Alpha Delta Sloper DX-A
Logger: N1MM
-------------------------
Highlights:
15:15z- Late and slow start yielded few Q's (local Saturday 10:15AM), mostly
S&P on 15M. 10M was weakly open to SA and nothing heard from EU. Stateside only
managed to hear one K5 in backscatter.
16:41Z -10M nothing heard
17:30z - 10M Band started to open nicely to SA, although S&P.Although, the rate
suffered when attempting to run.
21:02z - Short CW run on 15M
21:10z - Late and sparse band opening on 10M, bagged CR6K and a few EU and AFs
21:49z - Nice run on 10M CW, mostly stateside
22:44z - Managed a short, but intense run on 10M, that needed to stop abruptlt
due to nearby
thunderstorms that drove a very hig static noise 59++ (I could clearly
hear the
static build-up on my tower guy lines). So, I decided better to be safe than
sorry,
and shutoff everything at 22:57z
00:53z - Returned to the shack and found the 10M band somehow, swicthed to 15M
and stay there until the
rate dropped and moved to 20M CW at 0217z.
02:26z- Another thunderstorm with heavy lightining and rain, shutoff everyting
.
03:58z - The storm disipated and continued on 20M where I had another small
run.
05:00z - Started to work 40M and 80M, that despite the seasonal atmosferic and
permanent urban noise, had more Q's than expected.
07:23z - I was really tired and had surpassed my personal goal of 400 Q's,
so decided to wrap everything up.
Overall, great contest and lots of fun
Thank you for the QSO's !
