Comments:

Conditions were quite interesting. 15m was the money band. It was run run run
for hours. Second radio was every where else. Big decision was catching EU on
their grey line on 40 on down when 15m was still open to Asia. 20m was not even
close to 15m at anytime. Signals were not as strong as 15m. 40m was just a bit
noisy but quickly caught EU zones before jumping to 80m quickly before EU went
back up to the high bands. 80m was fairly quiet all night. We had storms track
through the area just as the contest was starting so they were still in our EU
path.

The aurora started at about 0800Z and really became intense within an hour.
Signals were very distorted and with echo. I heard but never worked B4HQ on 40m
but on a south path...direct path was gone. JAs called but I could not copy them
at all on 40m...until about 1130Z when the AU backed off a bit. Rate dropped and
I took a nap. Woke up to 40m activity but still AU.

I had a lot of fun and the cw ops were terrific as usual. Kudos to all of the
HQ stations that did a super job. It was nice to find and work NU1AW and W1AW
on so many bands.

Put together a couple of K3s with a MK2R+. Alpha 87A
N1MM, Green Heron and PstRotatorAz for control software.
