Comments:
WRTC-2014 Test site.
Was very very hot. All of the listed ops helped setup, operate and tear down.
N1WK is the Team Captain.
N1WK ordered a new Dunestaer Triplexer last Friday, mentioned it was for WRTC
test operation and it arrived on Monday. Kim mounted the triplexer and
triplexers to a board and was ready to rock.
Setup on Friday, blew up the 15m section of the new Dunestar Triplexer after 15
min of CQs. KB1H telephoned Ron @ Dunestar and had the appropriate capacitor
values. KB1H and N1WK took the 100 mile round-trip ride to the NZ1U barn in
Killingly CT to retrieve the parts. At 5a local W1UJ installed what was
thought to be the prepared (they returned around 0200 local) and testing was
not very good, until NB1U and KB1H pointed out there was another cap missing, 4
series caps and was fb and 100% in operation About an hour to go to the
start.....
We really beat on the triplexer and filters and it really played well.
We are all used to running HP and significant stacked arrays and dropping 1000w
and ~13 elements makes it necessary to hunt for those mults a bit more and
change the technique significantly.
Operators were rotated through as needed.
N1MM logger with WRTC module and WRTC Competitor rules observed.
