Comments:
Thanks to Bob N7IP for allowing me to "coast" along the bands this weekend from
his beautiful QTH in the Bitterroot Valley of Western Montana. Turns out it is
a simple yet beautiful 200 mile drive from our lake house in North Idaho.
Have a great summer!

Strategy: Mellow (certainly the most relaxing contest entry of my lifetime)
Class: 1 Radio, 1 Tower
"Coasting" along during this contest is summed up by the more relaxed approach
of getting to know Bob and the station and the reminiscent perspective of 1
radio, 1 tower with 1 rotor. I did not sense any competition going in which
really allowed me to enjoy the experience and basic strategy of moving up and
down the bands based on tower direction; mainly following the terminator. It
was an exercise in mixing conversation with DX/S&P'ing and Contesting in 20-30
min chunks by coasting the 2-3 open bands then turning the beam and repeating.
Quite an enjoyable ride.
Tower Direction Recap: 20-10m: Beam EU, then East USA, then SE. Turn to NW for
JA, then SW for Pacific. 40/80: Turn back NE to EU, East, SE, NW and SW,
complete. Add a couple rotations for random DX'ing (hoping for odd skew
paths).
Highlights:
10m: Hearing IO9HQ work a PY while beaming SE late in the day
80m: Feeling really loud with 2el at 200' even with the summer QRN
I felt loud on all bands but never any real runs materialized, here's the run
