Comments:
It was expected the operation will be challenging: HF condx to be degraded by
X-Flare, big competition within the MIX class, bad meteo-weather predictions in
DL, my first SOAB in IARU HFC, my second in a row and the first time true SO2R
(with no assistance).
In short: it was a big-time event despite awful local problem with
rain-statics. Our station is next to the MB production lines and a 380 kV power
line is just ~100 m away from the towers. The rainfall generated an extremely
high noise level, present at most of the contest time. Only in 4 of 24 hours I
was able to get QSO-rates higher than 100 ))).
Experiencing the (true) SO2R techniques was the definitive highlight. Many
thanks Win DK9IP for the station setup and Ivan OE1DIA, Braco OE1EMS, my son
Immano (14) and the rest of my family for their friendly support.
I would feel much better now if I would know to have getting the most out of
the Daimler Sportgemeinschaft Stern station. But I did not. Limited by
meteorology. Otherwise quite a few amazing top-scores of my friends appeared
despite challenging propagation conditions. Congratulations!
Many thanks to all for calling and sorry if I was deaf.
73 Suad, DK6XZ aka E77XZ
