Comments:
Big time congratulations to the W3LPL team. Year after year they continue
to set the bar very high for Multi Multi competition here in the USA. Their
major efforts in DX contests are simply are the best.
The winter storm weather and changing band conditions in this contest tested
the operators and the hardware at K3LR and W3LPL! This is the reason we
contest - you never know what will happen.
The K3LR contest efforts in the 2012 ARRL DX contests are dedicated
to the memory of Gary, W5ZL (past K3LR CQWW CW operator) SK.
Gary's passion for DX contesting was very special to all of us.
The contest activity was great this weekend and there was lots of DX for
48 hours. Sharing our friendship with others around the world is what
makes this the most amazing hobby in the world.
My thanks to the talented K3LR contestmen that traveled from all over the USA
(New Jersey, New Hampshire, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Texas and Oklahoma),
Mexico and Germany to be a part of this special weekend. There were some
amazing rates plus lots of interesting DXCC multipliers that were worked.
It is awesome to operate with these guys and I am thankful to the K3LR
team for their dedication to the K3LR MM events.
Congrats to Jim, AD1C who received a special award from the Bavarian
Contst Club for his dedication to providing country information for
many years to all logging saoftware paackages. Chris, DK9TN presented
the award to Jim during our post contest dinner this evening.
No K3LR effort happens without the dedicated hard work by Dave, W9ZRX
who puts the entire computer network together for each contest and helps
with many of the K3LR station projects.
The K3LR station description is at http://www.k3lr.com click on HARDWARE
K3LR QSL cards are available on ARRL LoTW, eQSL and via the QSL Bureau.
Also via direct mail. We QSL 100 percent.
We look forward to the CQ WorldWide contests this Fall.
Hope to meet you at Visalia, California in April or in Dayton, Ohio this coming
May!
