Comments:
My goals for this contest were
(1) to make a Clean Sweep as fast as possible
(2) to pick up some more (close in) states on 10 and 15M for LoTW WAS
I decided to start on 10M, making 30Qs in W6,AZ,OR,EWA,WWA,VE7,
then 30Qs on 15M filling in W7,VE5,6,7,VY1,KH6,KL7,
then 22Qs on 20M picking up WY
and then 40M to 'fill in the rest'.
I stopped at 0632Z with 79 sections, still needing SNJ DE KY ND.
First thing Sunday morning I saw a spot for KE0A from ND on 40M.
Worked him and moved to 80M, then back to 40M where K4IE called from KY.
I spent several hours searching/CQing on 20M with the beam North hoping to find
the last 2 sections (SNJ DE) to no avail, in spite of very short skip into ENY
NLI WNY NNJ EPA MDC VA NC SC OH etc. N2MM and K2SE had been spotted Saturday
but nil Sunday afternoon. Same for AA1K N3DXX N8NA in DE.
Late Sunday afternoon I saw a spot for W2YC on 15M. He was weak direct path
but readable via Backscatter beaming WNW. Fortunately, he picked up my call
when no one else called.
Finally, AA1K was spotted on 20M but well after the band had gone long. Again,
he was readable via Backscatter beaming WNW and picked out my call during a
brief lull in the pileup. Thanks for the Sweep Jon !
I spent WAY more time than I had anticipated to make the sweep.
VE4VT called me on 40M Saturday evening.
VE3ZI and VE3CX (ONN) were worked on 80M Saturday evening.
Most of their spots were on 80M only.
