Comments:

A week long sailing trip from Malta to eastern Sicily aboard KORSAR, a Mystic 60
cutter, started the adventure for NL8F, WS7L, and K7ZSD. We arrived back in
Valletta, Malta at 9am the day of the contest. By the afternoon we put up an
A3S and a S9 vertical with remote antenna tuner at the hotel in Qawra
overlooking St Pauls Bay. The local Malta Amateur Radio Club loaned us a Sigma
80m vertical which they put up the same afternoon. The antennas were relatively
low and with a small amplifier we were popular enough for the 3244 Qs we made.

We had a blast. When the bands were open we had great rate but things were
slower on the low bands with our small antennas. We looked for the west coast
on all bands, but the distance made it difficult. Thanks to all for the
patience and the great operating. A special thanks to the MARL for the
assistance and Robin, 9H1ZZ and Ray, 9H1EI for their time and friendship, and
to Wim, PG9W for the use of an 18’ mast and some coax.

Brad K7ZSD, Carl WS7L, Tim NL8F
