Comments:
Great contest. Been busy on all other arenas lately, making it difficult to
complete the antenna work needed in front of the cqww contests. No multi single
this year, but a lot of fun on 15m single band. First day was really down
compared to the ssb contest. Fortunately the condx improved really on Sunday.
Tried to hold a decent 3 pts run, and discovered that the JA's really came
nicely on long path, even though the signal strength were not to strong. Really
challenging with the echo on the signals. Saturday gave little rate, but plenty
of time chasing the multipliers. On Saturday I gave up rate, and did S/P for
the most.
Wondering why someone think its all right working split in contests. The band
is packed with stations, and I got the very wanted station pile on my clear run
frequency. Boy - what a mess. Had to leave 21012,2mhz, and dig for a new clear
spot.
Well, enough of complaining. Difficult zones as 1,6,7,10,12,26,27,31,32 all
came to me, so did not have to chase them at all. Think I had 3 XE stations
calling in a short time, and KL7RA booming in Saturday morning local time. Sat
in the chair for 13 hours constantly on Sunday, making my xyl wondering if I
was still alive and well. I guess "well" depending on who is looking... :)) A
super weekend !!!
