Comments:
Don't think I ever tried single band before in earnest, it was fun. I was
surprised that being stuck on a band made me REALLY aware of what was going on
on that band, that was fun. The biggest surprise was working the JA's on Sunday
morning (never worked a single one on Saturday morning!). My dedicated 40' high
Europe/VK dipole never heard them AT ALL, but my 50' high 100' long ladder-line
Zepp, at right angles to the dedicated dipole, heard them GREAT!!! No wonder you
guys like beams! Maybe one of these days.
This was my first contest with my new Kenwood TS-590S. It was AMAZING!!! I
could REALLY shut out the QRM with narrow filters and IF shift. I think for a
$1400 radio it is a KILLER.
I worked every zone I heard except zone 12, could not work that CE1 for the
life of me. Based on the rate I was hearing I was not alone. Very frustrating.
I did make 3 other QSOs on 20/1 on 15 for DX Marathon credit but they are not
included in my score.
See ya'll in the 10 meter and 160 meter contests.
