Comments:
Hmmmmm...... I think I made a mistake - I shoulda done 15m as I usually do.
Not nearly as many mults from the Pacific areas or Eu as in the SSB affair.
The fewer hours of daylight were also responsible, I'm sure. I was on the band
at least 1/2 hour before sunrise both days, expecting some good sigs from SA,
but they were few, far between and weak.
Europe was the big disappointment - only a few EAs on Saturday, but a couple of
Gs and a DL on Sunday, all coming from a skewed path of 90-120 degrees instead
of the usual 30 deg., and consequently very weak. On the SSB weekend they were
numerous, direct and loud! You guys on the east side of the Rockies have no
idea how frustrating it is to hear the east coast (half my distance and in
daylight) working Eu by the hundreds, and not be able to hear any of them :-(
A couple of good runs on both afternoons, tnx to the USA and JA.
QSOs with K:430, JA:197, PY:35, VK:24, LU:16, ZL:9, CE:7, UA9:7, VE:7(!),
EA8:6, HL:6, KH6:5.
Countries - AF:11, AS:7, EU:9, NA:19, OC:8, SA:13.
Will the 10m Contest be as good?
Ralph, VE7XF
