Comments:
Weren't 10 and 15 great! Unfortunately, I had to work most of the weekend, but
I got on the two high bands whenever I could sneak a break. Both bands opened
to Europe before our sunrise here in California and stayed open to Asia until
two hours after our sunset. OHs coming in with a bit of flutter in the late
afternoon with Asia. Long path to Asia in our morning. Europe calling in
after 22z, mid-afternoon here. Just spectacular. I was really bummed to be
off the air during Sunday's EU opening.
Thanks to all the stations who QSY'd to the other band for me! This was a good
practice exercise after being pretty much QRT since CQP and WW RTTY. Once
again, the Elecraft PR10 preamp saved many QSOs on 10 meters where signals were
buried in the (very low) band noise. I ran with the internal preamp engaged
most of the time as well, even though that is not generally a good idea in
conjunction with the external PR10.
