Comments:

This was supposed to be the shakedown for the new station. I was going to go
all bands assisted, fullbore. However, Sandy had other plans. 80 meter quad
wires were knocked down 2 hours before the contest and with winds gusting 30
MPH and darkness coming fast there was no chance to fix them.

I decided to play and to see what the new station could do...at first. I
worked 10, 40 80 and 160 top see how the station would play...and then figured
I'd get up at whatever time and play on the upper bands. I woke up at around
6:15 and headed to the shack to see what was up on 10. A few signals were just
starting to come through so I sat down for a "few minutes". The few minutes
turned out to be a major effort on 10 meters.

Conditions were great! New logging program (N1MM), new antennas, first time
doing assisted made this a huge learning experience. I wish I knew all the
stuff about all three at the beginning of the contest that I know now!

Worked all mults I heard with the exception of a couple of skip zones that were
whispers here...C6, TI, TG and VP5. Grand finale was having a VK6 call 10
minutes before the end of the contest for zolne 37.

I'm sold on assisted op and hope I can improve on using this amazing method of
operating.
