Comments:
I have no 160-meter transmit antenna and no receive antennas here at present,
and planned to load my 80-meter inv-V (@ 65 feet) to just allow me to work a
few friends. I got caught up in the fray, and was surprised how well the
antenna worked on both transmit and receive! Best full-hour rate was 99
QSO/hour.
I operated mostly non-primetime hours, including the last hour, in which I made
13 QSOs! I had several DX stations call me on my run frequency: C6, DL(2), EA,
G(2), LY, OK, PJ2, S5, SP, and XE. I chased and worked T32 on his frequency.
As I often tell Amateurs who hesitate to get on to work me during a 160-meter
contest: "Everyone is using a compromise antenna! Get on and work
someone!"
