Comments:
Most notable about the contest? The fact that I got to contest
from my station for the first time in nearly 2 years, instead
of an apartment indoor dipole. That was a good feeling. But,
the station is in a bit of disrepair, and I only had about an
hour before the contest to try to get things hooked back up
and such. Felt great to put in a good effort on some real
aluminum.
Second most notable: I made an early QSY to 160M (01z) to
see if I could drum up some business. First person to call
was Lubo, OM5ZW, with a huge signal to overcome my S9 noise
and no RX antennas. Only two other stateside called in before
I went back to 80.
My best score for 7 years, but it appears I wasn't in the same
contest as everyone else. Wow, some big scores out there!
None the less, I'm pleased with the score despite some key
components of the station being broken.
