Comments:

Whew! Great condx everywhere I went, but my brain and body are wrecks. Sure
seemed like I could be heard just about anywhere, which was fabulous, but I'm
sure my QRP competition enjoyed it just as much as I did.
Thanks to all who listened hard for my small signal.

Equipment - Tentec Orion in diversity mode w. N1MM, and an old Grandmaster
memory keyer (that saved the day when my old laptop failed to send code for
about half the contest - some may have noticed the hesitations ... I felt like
I was "kickin' it old school" with so many more buttons to push).
Antennas - tribander driven element hanging vertically from a tree branch, feed
point at about 50'
- 20/40/80 multiwire inverted vee (more of a W because of a lot of droopy
slack) at about 45'
- 500+ ft. horizontal wire loop threaded through the trees and fed w. TV twin
lead and an old Z-11 autotuner

Spent too much time the previous week fussing with an old multiband vertical
only to find late Saturday that the 10m trap was open .. .duh ... next time do
the Ohm meter checks first! Hope to get it fixed and put up for the next
contest.

The wife is becoming more insistent that I need a directional antenna (she
expects at least a roof tripod if not a tower) - we'll see how the money works
out for that. But I still have my song and thanks for all the hits - it's
becoming one of my most popular.

I have plans for more ham radio songs, too (thinking of a song about old tube
receivers, maybe a parody of Paul Butterfield's "I'm just driftin' and
driftin' ...")

Looking forward to the SSB version of SS - less QRP competition for that one -
I hope to put y'all in the log then.
73 (72) and best rx to all de kt8k - Tim
