Comments:

First, thanks to Bill for allowing me to use his awesome station. I have been
operating @W4RM as part of the multi-op team for the past five years and was
glad to have a single-op opportunity. For my first SS in about 20 years, I set
some pretty lofty goals for myself and unfortunately fell short by several 100
Qs. My first hour was a disappointing 70 Qs on 15 meters. Still I'm happy
with the end result, I had a lot of fun, and I learned some lessons for next
year (like how to properly drive an amp). I had decided to run without
spotting and was planning to run S02R (it's been 20 years since the last time I
did SO2R @ N6TV), but after several hours trying to configure the station for
SO2R, we gave up and declared the SO2R box defective.

So, I was SO2V...trying to S&P in-band in between calling CQ. SO2V worked
well, but I wasn't able to hear the other bands and wasn't always sure if I was
running/S&Ping on the best band.

As far as the sweep, VI, NL, and PR alluded me the longest. Finally got on 10
meters Sunday afternoon and found them all. PR was last. While S&Ping, I
found a KP4...but it was the Discovery of Puerto Rico special event station and
I decided not to try to log a unique call that might get deleted. Eventually I
heard a PR just 3 KCs above my run freq. I asked him to come down to my run
frequency and the sweep was mine.

I'm already looking forward to next year. See you in SS 2014.
73, Ace, N3AHA
