Comments:
Lots of fun on the high bands this year kept me at the radio for a lot longer
than I had anticipated. It was really interesting to hear both long path and
short path propagation simultaneously much of the time. I used the
Bi-directional mode on my SteppIR a lot and there were times when I had to
switch it to a single direction mode to copy someone. It was also interesting
to hear my own signal coming around the planet. I haven't heard that particular
phenomenon in a long time.
My antenna situation make running impractical, so this was a 100% S&P
effort. The pileups were huge at times on even some common multipliers but
everyone was **mostly** well-behaved. Some guys still need to learn that if the
station you're calling comes back to someone else it doesn't help if you
continue to send your call on top of the QSO. And for those of us who don't use
telnet spotting it isn't helpful to dump your call in continuously on top of
the
DX station's ID.
I had lots of fun this year. Hope conditions are equally good for the ARRL
tests this spring. See y'all in the piles!
