Comments:
Upps, they did it again... ;-)
CONGRATS to ES9C for taking over also the CW M/M record from us.
It was even after the first night that they went 1000 QSOs ahead of us and
constantly added margin. We are behind our own 2011 EU record (claimed score)
by about 6 million points (claimed 32 million in 2011). Every band but 80
meters had significantly less QSOs/multipliers than 2011. Only 80 meters made
+/- the same QSOs as 2 years ago, but 6 multipliers more!
So we lost again, and ES9C is the new glorious EU champion in both modes!
On the more southern battle field it turned out that D4C did a very great job.
But as they already said, their CW score will probably be not enough to beat
our old 1999 CN8WW M/M world record (like it was in SSB).
As an interesting note, CN8WW was active in the contest again this year. The
callsign now belongs to Saaid from Meknes/Morocco - while I was the first
license holder back in 1998. I made contact with him on 10 meters, and I liked
it. It's a rare chance to work your own callsign on the air... :-)
CU ALL again next year. We have some ongoing plans for station work at DR1A,
but lately there was too much other (business) work for all of us, and we
couldn't really bring anything forward this year... There is always a next
year... ;-)
