Comments:
Congratulations to all of the multi multi contest teams - especially the W3LPL
team - for outstanding performances and competition in this contest. The K3LR
team is very fortunate to compete along side the top multi multi stations in
the USA and around the world.
It is very cool to be able to enjoy the great worldwide DX conditions in the
CQWW phone contest. For certain, this contest will go down in history - as all
of the bands were beyond outstanding for the entire weekend. All of the bands
had great DX propagation.
Thanks to the contestmen who traveled long distances to operate at K3LR.
Sharing 48 hours in a small room full of great friends with radios - enjoying
our radio hobby - is what makes radio contesting something very special.
The highest hourly rate ever at K3LR happened Saturday morning on 10 meters
with K1AR and N3GJ operating. LU7DW worked some real magic on 10 meters as
well. 15 meters was amazing with K3UA and K1DG piloting the highest ever QSO
total on any band at K3LR. AD1C, K3LA and W2RQ did an outstanding job on 40
meters �" a new high QSO total for K3LR on 40. It was neat to watch N2NT,
ND8L and K1AR grind away on 20 meters to an outstanding total �" the
highest ever on 20 meters at K3LR. N5UM and KB8VAO pushed really hard on 80
meters �" with some outstanding rates. 71 Countries on 160 by N2NC is
unreal considering the activity and conditions were so good on the high bands.
Five band DXCC in one weekend!
The secret weapon at K3LR is Sal, WM2H who handled all of the chef duties and
motivation for the operators at K3LR - a 100% SUPER job Sal! And Sal operated
more in this contest than ever before at K3LR.
Thanks to Dave, W9PA for all of his hard work and dedication to helping K3LR
always be ready - before, during and after the contest! Also thanks to Greg,
W8WWV for all of his guidance and help getting the antenna systems ready.
