Comments:

As always a lot of fun. I look forward to this one for a long time.

Score could have been much better but day 2 was not as productive as I had
hoped. Conditions on all bands were not as good day 2 but still pretty good.
Just like last year, the biggest headache was finding a place to run.

Sunday I just could not find a hole on any band. Ended up way above 29 MHz on
10m.
I found a spot on 20m Sunday afternoon but after establishing a nice run and
good size pileup, I was told I was too close (2.5 kHz)to a net frequency!!!!!!
I value nets and generally respect them but to try and conduct a non emergency
net during CQWW so you can chat about fishing spots does seem a bit pointless.
Clearly the DX did not respect the wishes of net control. They still seem to
expect a clear frequency. I did QSY and had to go back to S&P.

With a couple hours to go I came across a big gun on 20m asking a DX station to
move to another band for the mult. They did QSY and I took this as my chance to
grab a frequency. Well 3 calls to ask if the frequency was in use and no
response so I started running. After about 20Qs the Big gun returned and
claimed the frequency had been in use by him for a couple hours. I said I knew
that but he had QSY'ed to work a DX station and had not responded to my calls
so I took over. He laughed and said it was worth a shot at asking.

Best conditions on 10m I have experienced since I started contesting in 2006.

Hope to see everyone in SS next week. VE4's will be plentiful I promise.
