Station: Rig: Elecraft K-2, 5 Watts.

Antennas:

3 el Stepp-IR up 32 feet: 10-15-20 Meters.
Butternut HF-2V Vertical for 40-80 Meters.
DX-LB trap dipole up 30 feet for 40-160 Meters.

Fantastic conditions! 10 Meters was packed, and I worked several stations over
29.000 MHz! I even tried CQing once and had 4 stations come back to me over
8-10 minutes. But I was able to do better by S & P.

This weekend I was asked to "Elmer" others in the contest. In
addition, we had unexpected guests from out of town. So I was only able to
operate from my home station for a total of 15.2 hours. ...Then I discovered
the "Classic" overlay category!! It fit me perfect, so that worked
well!

I did not have any special or outstanding QSOs, only lots of them. Even with my
5 watts, stations often came back on the first call. The most interesting QSO
was with MZ8A on the European Shetland Island. That was a nice addition to my
DX Marathon totals.

My DXCC was 84 and my WAZ was 28. I will never know if I could have reached
DXCC of 100 with a full effort! 34% of my Qs were in Europe and 18% were with
JA.

Great contest, great conditions! See you in the CQWWDX CW!

73, Bill W8QZA / W6QU
