Comments:
Started out ok, then went flat the second hour so I took it off. was still
kinda slow - couldn't really get anything going on any band, started picking up
a bit around 21z, then the thunderstorm hit. Complete with hail and very local
lightning. I unhooked the antennas but didn't shut anything down. Power surge
tripped my UPS (of course, the batteries died years ago)which turned off the
computer. Rebooted, looked shy a few contacts so used the backup file. It
seemed a bit short too (had one more q than the log), dunno why that could be.
At any rate, i lost an hour so that clarified my off-time strategy, i could get
my 10 with no more breaks. I caught enough of the 10/15 conditions on either
side of the storm to get a good enough mult there. Condx the rest of the way
were quite good, 20 got the short end of the time stick.
The low band were very good if a bit noisy and there was a LOT of activity to
go along with, all the way thru to the end.
The very slow start combined with storm/log problem put thoughts of quitting in
my head, but once the conditions improved it sure was a lot of fun. Lots of
great ops out there!
6 banders with W0DLE, N4AF, N4OGW, KU8E, 1 stn on 5 bands.
Thanks for the Qs!
