Comments:
A bit surprised by this score. Knew the conditions are going to be good and was
hoping to get above 10M one more time on this cycle but 11M was clearly
unthinkable. The goal was 5000 QSO's with reasonable multiplier. Changed few
things in my strategy based mainly on K0DQ last year performance and K3JO
criticism of K1LZ style of operation. The strategy held for the first 30 hours
or so, then my sleep-deprived brain reverted back to basic instincts. The
blend, however, turned out to be exactly what I was looking for.
The contest itself went by really quick, especially the last 4 hours when it
became evident that 11M is within reach if I push a bit harder. N9RV is
absolutely right about the double mult effect. Saw the green light twice in the
last hour. Nothing beats that!
As always, my sincere thanks to Jim, WA3FET for letting me use the station
again. His contribution to this score can not be measured with points but is
deeply appreciated.
Few years ago I set myself a goal to make 10 top 3 finishes in each of CQWW CW,
CQWPX CW and ARRL DX CW. Looking at the scores so far, I think I can put the
check mark on CQWW. The ARRL DX comes next - see you then!
