Comments:

As said DX conditions very poor and stateside conditions not too bad. Normal
rates first few hours but a strange 20 minute period at 0500z with no Q's.
First time with no Q's over 7 points. DX worked: NP2X, KV4FZ, KP3W, P4/DL6RAI,
HI8A and HI3TEJ. Never heard any other DX.

I was looking forward to the contest because I had zero line noise, first time
using true diversity reception (K3) and my 80 and 160 8 vertical EFBS systems
were working pretty good after a recent tune up. I ran 99.5% of the time on
the K3 (using both 80 and 160 rx arrays-one east and one west) and S and P'd on
the 7800 using the 80 meter rx array. While transmitting I could copy stations
within 2 Khz either side of my transmit frequency. This kept the contest
interesting and kept me in the chair during the slow CQ times pouncing on fresh
meat.

I think in spite of the poor DX conditions activity was up somewhat. Thanks
to all who made a special effort to get on and make some Q's and thanks to the
Boring guys and donors who make this happen.

Happy New year to all,

Mike W9RE
