Comments:

Thanks to George K5TR for the opportunity to use his station for WPX.

During this time of year in central Texas, most thunderstorms form and then
dissipate relatively quickly. But this past weekend, the regional weather
pattern was very different. Persistent and slow-moving storms with lightning
hung around the area for most of the weekend. I had to 'pull the plug' and
wait out close storm cells on 5 different occasions during the contest. The
rains are overdue and very (very) welcome, but why do they have to bring along
so much energy/static?

Callers on 15M kept coming and coming ... what a great band! Even 10M showed a
little life for a couple of hours around 1700Z the second day. But 40M was the
real challenge - to gather callsign and serial numbers through the perfectly
timed QRN spikes. The beverages were essential for much of the time on 40M. I
really love WPX because you have to exchange more info than just a callsign,
but sometimes it takes a lot of repeats to get the QSO in the log. Thanks for
your patience.
