Comments:
Felt like my left arm/hand were missing having just a single radio and no SO2R.
Last contest lost my second PC and the ability to do SO2R with my simple setup.
Had consolidated everything on the one radio (and remaining PC) which proved
okay. Decided to run Unlimited just to experience the new data flow which was
also interesting and helped with the sweep. Although I saw every section
reported early on, I choose to just run and play and grab spots much later.
When I finally started using the spots, only needed the last 4 sections. It
wasn't until Sunday morning when I got WVA for number 82, then after returning
for a long break, early afternoon, when the usual drinking begins, I found my
last section and had a toast - KP2RUM.
Was surprised, like others, that VY1EI was QRP and running around calling
people. Happily he called in - thanks!
My long break Sunday AM was to drop off my grand daughter at her house (she
stayed over night at my QTH), then packed up my car and helped a friend lift a
crank up tower (from an estate) onto his trailer, then drove back to the house
and worked RUM. QRT 2 minutes after when the XYL arrived back from her girls
weekend get away. Watched a great football game (Pats over that Colo. team).
Other than the PC problem, also had some issues with the 40 M antenna and ended
up using my dipole for the entire time (not as much fun but put on the band).
Thanks for another fun weekend.
